Having seen Pete's post, I came back from a quick chat with my boss via the post room. Lo and behold, there was a little envelope for me. Here are the contents, arranged artfully on my too-crowded desk:
My badge has an orange "First timer" sticker on it, just so everyone knows I'm a noob. And I seem to have scored tickets for the Awards Dinner and the Elizabethan Banquet. Not my choice, but since the nice people at PLG did the booking, I guess they just wanted to make sure I'd have a good time.
I'm still not going to the Elizabethan thing though. It scares me.

Huzzah! My badge doesn't have 'First Timer' on it, despite my asking for a lunch-time ticket. Not that I can go to the First Timer lunch...
I guess you can get the Banquet ticket swapped for a De Havilland one.
I hope so, otherwise I'm going to have to get busy with the sewing machine and make some Olde Time clothing...
You need to pimp your badge. You're bound to have some redundant orange spine labels somewhere at work!
Well, I don't mind blagging my way as a seasoned pro ;) I have asked the organisers if I can get a little orange sticker...
Will you be going to the Awards dinner? That lets you off worrying how to spend your Thursday night, whilst us plebs hang at some pub...
I'll go for the pub option Thursday night. But I might come in black tie, so I can bring the glamour of the awards dinner to the local boozer.
